Alexandria- 4 years

Alex is affectionate.  She tells me she just wants to lay down with me, or she wants to cuddle.  She truly loves to be loved and loves to love.  She has a slight jealousy of Paulina when Paulina is the object of affection and will try to squeeze herself closer than her sister.  She wanted to marry me for a long time, but she now realizes she should choose a boy.  Jorgito (her cousin) is first choice as of now.  Alex is a great big sister.  She is fair and teaches her siblings well.  She'll help get Paulina dressed, fix her hair, and get her tooth brush ready.  She is encouraging such as telling Dexter "You're such a big boy; you are standing up!"  She's helpful.  She always wants to help cook.  She breaks all our morning eggs and scrambles them and puts them in the frying pan.  She'll generally comply to any request cheerfully if not speedily.  She seems truly remorseful when reprimanded and frequently says she's sorry even when she did little wrong.  She is cunning in her ability to negotiate what she wants, but she is usually reasonable.  If I state my feelings and what I am going through, she appears to understand and to respond to what is needed from her.  She seems to like things aesthetically pleasing.  She loves playing dress-up and looking nice.  When she received slippers for Christmas she slept with them.  Then she would only wear her paten leather shoes everywhere much to my arguments, and now wears only the pink sparkly shoes Aunt Christie got her.  When we go to my Grandmother's house, she says the place is so beautiful.  When I ask why, she says she likes the pretty plates, and that she wants to eat off them (too bad they're just for show).  When her bed was made nicely one day, she refused to sleep in it for a few days not wanting to mess it up, even when told we'll make it up again the same way.  She likes beautiful things.   She is really enjoying coloring now,  and I have to say she may color better than me.  She has difficulty cutting with scissors, but that may be because she is left handed.  I should really try a left-handed pair of scissors.   It is so great to witness her growth and am looking forward to learning more about her.
