I am a little behind on all that's happened this new year of 2009. We started the year yes again at Disney World. I feel like it is a little redundant, but we have year passes and we are getting our monies worth and Byron had the time off. Where else can you go where everyone is entertained? Not that many places, and we had my parents with us this time. Yes 4 adults against 3 children. The odds were in our favor. I have to say our first day we had some mishaps. I lost my purse and all my identification & IPOD, plus we lost Paulina just as we were leaving Hollywood studios. We were just exchanging strollers, ours got a flat, and they let us use their free of cost, and I lost sight of Paulina for a minute and she was lost. I was quite frantic for 20 minutes. Some people found her by the Indiana Jones show and brought her to guest relations where Byron went to see if someone turned her in. She ran over two blocks away from us. The lady who brought her was so sweet, and told us she just watched her run and run, and then she just stopped and looked like she had no idea where she was. Then the next day I lost my new cell phone at Magic Kingdom (my old one crashed on me right before I left with all my contact information), but I retrieved it at Customer Service thankfully. Oh, and our camera broke or at least the battery did. We also had a flat that wouldn't stop happening after filling with air a few times and changing the rubber tubing though on the second time changing it, we were back in business. At this point I really thought our trip was jinxed, or at least I was. What was going on to have all this craziness. Oh, Alex was getting over a cold and Dexter was getting one and then Byron got it at the end, so the kids were a little less thrilled to be out all day (Byron took a day off). We had all these negative aspects happening, and I did feel a little low for a while especially about my purse. I have to say my husband was wonderfully supportive during my time of bazar happenings. He was solid like a rock which I really needed and didn't even give me a hard time which he is good at when prompted. I have to say the Staff at Disney was so helpful. They charged our battery for our camera (though still didn't work), filled our tire multiple times with air and offered to use their strollers free of charge, had diapers to purchase at the child center when we shockingly found out we didn't have any left and Dexter needed immediate assistance, gave us aspirin at the medical center for Byron's throbbing headache, and we learned so much more about Disney services than we ever wanted to learn about but were thankful they were there. Despite all these glitches, we had a wonderful time. Byron said we even had one perfect day where everything was paced and worked perfectly to our advantage. The parks were a little crazy the 1st and 2nd, but after that the lines were pretty easy to get through. We got to see the wonderful Christmas Decorations (Osborne light show was spectacular), great parades right up close (which my kids are enjoying more from the video we took then when they were there), and I even got to go on the Adult rides thanks to my parents help of watching the kids. I loved the Yeti/Kilimanjaro roller coaster ride though my mom got sick our second time around. We had everyone's fast passes since everyone else in our party was CHICKEN. My parents let us take a day to ourselves and they took a day for themselves to really enjoy and explore all the countries in Epcot. It was nice to see our kids and my parents bond and be less clingy to us! Better to start on a low note and end on a high note I suppose.
