I honestly think I went a little batty with the Easter Egg hunts this year. I don't know if it is the fact that my girls are at a great age to enjoy all the activities or a curiosity of mine to see what's up with each event. Anyway we partook in 6 egg festivities and now I am thoroughly exhausted, and my neglected home in disarray. All I to show for my effort are these pictures and a bunch of candy I don't want my kids to eat. I did have fun though and the weather was absolutely gorgeous!!!
Here is #1 in Miramar. I forgot to put the battery in my camera, but a nice friend took these for us. Dexter was great at collecting eggs by himself using two hands at once. I was just sad to miss video taping my girls on the mechanical bull that they had there. Paulina was so funny and was just giggling when the bull started up. She had to be the smallest person there to attempt it, and she didn't fall off. It was a long wait, but Alex was determined to master the bull. That was the highlight.
#2 at Walnut Park.
A group of us met up and brought a dish to share as well as 6 eggs per kid but most of us brought more. We had way too much food, and I ended up taking home a whole uneaten cake and cupcakes home (now in the freezer). Everyone else was dieting, so I got the goods even though I definitely don't need the extra calories.
Dexter is amongst the scattered eggs unaware what they are there for, and here is the group waiting to attack.
Bubble time and running around the field. What a great time!
#3 at Pembroke Pines.
It was nice to have a bunch of peddle cars for the kids to enjoy as well as a bounce house and a playground was near by. We did it all. Of course my girls fight for the girlie car. Thankfully two were free shortly.
This time we even got to see the Easter Bunny; we missed him in Miramar waiting on the mechanical bull. It was cute when we left and Paulina patted his foot goodbye. The Ice was an extra bonus.
Train ride was fun. I have no pictures of the egg hunt because it lasted about 10 seconds and my girls only got about 6 eggs between them. Too many people. I felt sorry for the little babies who were crying. They only had two divisions 6 and younger and 7 -12. They had great prizes like bikes and X Box in the eggs, but my girls are lovers not fighters. Maybe next year. Some nice older boys gave my kids their eggs with candies they didn't want. Alex also got to do the climbing wall but forgot the picture. Her poor cousin Joshua really wanted to go, but they didn't think he weighed the 45 pound requirement even though he is 2 years older than Alex. His mom called me later that evening to tell me he was 44 pounds. How do they know?
#5 at Jungle Island.
Almost to the end. We went to Jungle Island since we got the year pass. Surprised they charged 2 dollars per child to partake in an egg hunt and didn't even get very many eggs. They let one small group out at a time. Paulina only got 3 eggs so someone placed a couple more in her basket. Very controlled and no parents allowed which I liked. At least the money went to charity. We won 5 packets of Peeps marshmallow eggs. Too bad I don't like them.
We made a bracelet and colored. We did this for a while because I was enjoying the shade.
I entered Alex in the pie eating contest which was funny because she was the only girl and the youngest one. That big kid next to her won. She was happy because she liked the apple pie. Paulina was very encouraging. I tried to get Paulina in the game too, but she couldn't reach the table.
Alex really enjoys feeding the birds. They weren't that hungry, but she managed to get a couple to take the food. She was on my shoulders. Man is she heavy!
These birds were all over me when I had the food, only one would go to Alex when I gave her the nectar. They must like big people. Great to have the birds flying freely around us though I think I got branded.
#6 with the Abuelos. Finalmente! Their place gave the kids a goody bag and an egg hunt where the eggs were actually hidden. They also had cake and ice cream. A man was singing and entertaining the folks while the kids enjoyed the bounce house. We also ate dinner there. It was fun to see Alex and her cousin Jorjito sit together and sip their soup together. Abuela told us Jorjito never would eat soup before. Byron was surprised by their flirting. They do start young.
