The new Amazon exhibit was a blast and quite child friendly.
Paulina was so scared to touch the baby alligators. She finally realized they were fakes when nothing happened to the ones who touched them.
Fun water play area. Alex had fun pushing the button and splashing water on people. Dexter got soaked.

This was our third attempt at trying to feed the giraffes. On our first try they were mating, then not interested, finally Alex got her moment. Giraffes are Alex's favorite animal. I tried to get Paulina to feed them, but she was frightened. I even picked her up and tried to calm her down and bring her toward the giraffe. She was getting comfortable and went to pet one, when one head butted her. Well, after trying to calm her down with her screaming, she disappeared to the stroller area. She had quite a story to tell her dad when she got home. This is a memory that will last a while. Alex was elated.
We were at the playground area, and I just wanted to capture my girls playing in the bushes more that with the equipment. Paulina kept attempting to climb those wimpy bushes.

This man was really nice to let us come in at closing time. We got to be there while he fed all the animals before he left. They were happy to pet whatever was available.

Alex loves digging for bones, and Paulina and Dexter like the feel of the stones. All our skin felt so soft, but we were also really filthy.

My mom felt cozy inside her nest.
Dexter has a milk/juice belly. What a little middle aged man he looks like. He got a little braver with the water once he figured out the timing of the water. He's a smarty.

Good. I am glad you lived up the zoo. Now that we have to pay I am not as interested in going. :) I am so cheap. Hope to see you at Kim's house tomorrow night for the Bachelor. :)
